- State Income Tax: 3.4%
person income tax on adjusted gross income
- Local Option Income Tax: 1.25%
- Corporate Tax: Rate is dependent upon the type of
business operation. Wholesale and retail have a .3% rate while rentals,
service income, utility services, interest, passive income and sales
other than normal wholesale & retail
have a 1.2% rate.
- Business Property Tax: The state, cities, counties & special taxing
districts impose taxes on all real and personal property not specifically
exempted. Property is assessed at 33.36% of true tax value. Real property
is assessed where located.

Service Deposits:
Electric Service $100
Water Service $ 50
If an acceptable letter of credit from another utility is furnished,
deposits are $25 for electric and $25 for water. Gas City accesses a
fee of $20 for any returned check. Gas City Utilities has a reconnection
charge of $15 for a reconnect at the meter and $30 for a reconnect at
the pole.

- Electric: Gas City Electric/IMPA - Indiana Municipal Power Association
- Gas: VECTREN, Inc.
- Sewage: Gas City & Jonesboro provided by the
Gas City Regional Plant, meeting all state and federal requirements.
- Telephone: Ameritech provides service to most /other
services are available.
- Trash: City provides residential pickup. All Gas
City Utilities customers are charged $4.50 per month for trash
pickup.
- Water: Municipally Owned
