An Olympic-size swimming pool is open every summer from Memorial Day to Labor Day (765-677-3090). The pool has a capacity of 600 swimmers and is patrolled by certified lifeguards. Also available in the park is a band shell, two lighted tennis courts, Hontz Hall meeting facilities*, a batting cage, professional horseshoe pits, basketball courts, lighted baseball an softball diamonds, volleyball, a playground for the children, picnic areas, bicycling, and just plain relaxing.
The bandshell at the Gas City Park is the home of the Gas City Area Chamber Concerts in the Park, made possible by combined donations of businesses and individuals. The concerts are free-of-charge and attended by local residents and visitors. Families gather on Tuesday evenings during the months of June and July and enjoy an evening of music.
Directions: Turn South on Broadway (off State Road 22 or Main Street) and follow it to find Eugene “Beaner” Linn Park.
